Black Friday Tips & Tricks - Part 2 of 2

This is part 2 of our two blog series on tips and tricks for your small business during Black Friday. If you have not read part 1, be sure to read that blog post as well!

Tip #5: Make sure customer support is ready and capable of handling an influx of questions and concerns

This one is super important. You're business will likely have an increased amount of customer support interactions, whether its asking about deals, complaining, or inquiring about return policies. Make sure to design a very clear guide for your support team so they are able and equipped to handle all possible interactions with customers during the day of Black Friday.

This way your business will be able to focus its time on making lots of sales rather than spending time dealing with angry or confused customers.

Tip #6: Get newsletter subscribers before Black Friday

Perhaps one of the most clever things that your business can do is run a campaign to get as many new newsletter subscribers as possible before Black Friday. Email marketing is one of the main ways that business communicate to customers about their Black Friday deals, and customers actually expect these emails and use them to decide what brands they will shop with.

Finding a way into their inbox could be all you need to make a sale to a new customer on Black Friday.

Tip #7: Make your email subject line stand out

With all your new email subscribers, you need a way to actually get them to open your Black Friday email. The most effective way to get high open rates is to write a unique and vibrant subject line. Write down some ideas until you come up with something that sounds like your brand but still promotes your great deals.

For example,

"Nearly free TVs - Only 100 in stock!!!".

Tip #8: Create designs that clearly and boldly display your Black Friday deals

One of the biggest mistakes companies can make when creating marketing materials and ads for their Black Friday sales is to put every deal into the ad. Don't do this. Your business only has a few seconds at the most to capture your consumers' attention, and seeing multiple different deals will be difficult to interpret at a glance.

Instead, keep it simple. Create materials and promote your best deal(s) and use this to capture the attention of customers. By doing so, you will get them in the door, and allow them to discover the sales that are most relevant to them.

Tip #9: Do a surprise extended sale

This holiday only comes around once a year. Why not squeeze it until there is nothing left? By extending your sale, you not only have the opportunity to increase revenue, but you may also gain the favor of new customers who were originally on the fence or too slow to act on the day of Black Friday. It's a win-win situation!

Of course, these tips are not an exhaustive list of everything that you can do during Black Friday. There are countless articles and sources online that have more tips and tricks for you, but these were some of our favorite!
